Gigi was 12 years old when she was diagnosed with Stage 5 IVDD. Our hearts were shattered seeing her in so much pain, and within 24 hours Gigi was unable to move her back legs at all. We feared for the worst and rushed her into emergency surgery.  As Gigi recovered from surgery, the rehab team at Mililani Mauka Vet Clinic was recommended to us by Gigi's surgeon as well as other dachshund owners we know.  It was an easy decision for us to start Gigi’s rehab journey at Mililani Mauka Vet Clinic. 

Our first appointment with the rehab team was nothing short of phenomenal! They were so loving, so knowledgeable, and it was clear that Gigi was in good hands. Over the course of 6 months, we had many rehab appointments as well as exercises given to us to practice at home. The rehab team adjusted the exercises based on Gigi’s needs, comfort, and progress.  Her rehab appointments were filled with so much love, challenge, encouragement, and peanut butter pup cups!  Slowly but surely, Gigi was able to regain her strength, coordination, confidence, and freedom.  We are forever grateful to the Mililani Mauka Vet Clinic rehab team.  They are a big reason why Gigi can walk, run, and play again, and we can’t recommend them highly enough!
