Our pet Luna, a yellow labrador, is 2 1/2 years old and has experienced 3 surgeries on her left elbow. Luna’s injury occurred when she was 3 months old. In August of 2024 we began and have continued Luna’s rehabilitation journey with Mililani Mauka Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Jamie Furutani demonstrates exemplary competence in canine rehabilitation medicine. We have been impressed with Dr. Furutani’s highly developed evaluation skills, patience and thoroughness in reviewing the surgeon’s records to develop a treatment program for Luna’s condition and peace of mind for us. Her program involved using state-of-the-art laser and hydrotherapy equipment, advocacy to use organic supplements, and her tenacity to achieve expected outcomes. Dr. Furutani is very intuitive and can assess quickly, progressively, proactively while being extremely personable. She has been responsive to all of Luna’s needs and has consistently reassured us with optimism. She always offers options and solutions. Overall, Dr. Furutani’s rehabilitation recommendations have been extremely effective and Luna has continued to improve significantly under her care and oversight.

The Mililani Mauka Veterinary Clinic facility is clean, well maintained and impressive. Luna’s rehabilitative treatments at the Clinic involved laser therapy, manual massages, and hydrotherapy treatment (non-weight bearing water-based treadmill and swimming exercises). Without a doubt, Luna has been offered the best and most effective methods in rehabilitative therapy. The staff are courteous and well trained in their respective areas, showing high professionalism and genuine concern for Luna. We couldn’t be more pleased with their services and have full confidence in Dr. Furutani.
