Acupuncture
Drs. Shah & Miyashiro are certified veterinary acupuncturists who provides an alternative to pharmacological medical treatment.  In some cases, the best results are observed when acupuncture is incorporated with western medicine in a multi-model approach. Acupuncture can be the sole treatment for ailments such as osteoarthritis, intervertebral disc disease, and chronic pain. It can also be used as an adjunctive therapy to compliment medical management of liver disease, renal disease, chronic vomiting, appetite loss, and post-operative pain. Acupuncture can be used for virtually anything and has little to no adverse effects or contraindications.

Canine rehabilitation
Canine rehabilitation is the remediation of impairments caused by trauma, deficiency, or aging through physical intervention. Our certified canine rehabilitation therapist, Dr. Jamie Furutani, may recommend treatment including manual therapy (massage, range of motion, joint compressions), therapeutic exercises, LASER therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, acupuncture and hydrotherapy. Our goal is to stimulate functional ability and promote quality of life.

Surgery

We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgeries are performed Monday through Friday with a fully trained staff to ensure safe and efficient procedures. Surgical services include:

  • Spay and neuter
  • ECG (Electrical cardiogram) and Oxygen saturation monitors
  • Heated surgery tables
  • Steamed sterilized instruments
  • After-surgery care
  • Cryosurgery

Ultrasound and radiology
Ultrasound is a non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology which uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs. Board certified radiologist, Dr. Graham Burns (from the Veterinary Emergency & Referral Center in Honolulu), frequents our clinic to perform ultrasounds and give owners immediate results. Dr. Burns and Dr. Ruby Clark are also available for radiographic interpretations (especially for our more puzzling cases.)
